February 23, 2004 | Knitting pretty 2.

To blog or not to blog? I'm finding it increasingly harder to update this site lately. As much as I loving my life and absolutely loving motherhood, it is far to mundane to share with others. My days are filled with singing, dancing, grocery shopping, baking, freezing and defrosting food, knitting, sewing and coffee mornings. I have eased out of web design and into a domestic goddess lifestyle. And it fits.

I read an article in the Globe this weekend, criticising the staff at Romni wool, and comparing their knitting philosophy to that at Lettuce Knit. I have visited the latter yet, but I have to say that apart from having to leave my stroller at the front door, I have never endured rudeness at Romni. In fact, the last visit was at touchy feely as the skeins of wool I left the store with. They are, and will remain, Toronto's knitting icon. That said, I can't wait to visit the Lettuce Knit. I have been a knitter since I was five, and quickly evolved from k1, s1 to cable and bobbles. I have a long way to go still, but motherhood has given me the time and opportunity to pick up my needles once again. I just completed a sweater (pictured above) that I will be mailing to little Mia Bo, in Ottawa. It was tempting to keep, but a started with the intention on knitting a gift, and a gift it will remain.

This weekend I found my wallet!!! I purchased a mammoth sized book on quilting, to celebrate the discovery.
