February 26, 2004 | The Drake Hotel.
My Diana camera arrived today. I'm thrilled, but too nervous to use it yet.
This morning, with four toddlers in tow, myself and three other mums beta tested the drake hotel coffee shop. I wouldn't call the clientele entirely child friendly, but the staff treated us well. I'm so impressed with the renovations and the attention that has descended upon the neighbourhood that has previously been more closely tied to crack hookers than boutique hotels. I'm a sucker for detail, and love every touch from the sock monkey on the bed (yes, I managed to get a tour of the rooms), to the mathematical equation on the massive chalk board. Kudos to all those involved.
Last night I enjoyed another night in the workshop with Sean, and for the first time, used my shiny new router. It feels so good to build again, after my short sabbatical from dust and wood glue. Wood is good.
Three more sleeps till Mexico. I stocked up on wool this morning, enough to knit another sweater for Leah and a hat for one of her buddies. That should be enough to keep me busy.
