May 8, 2004 | Ground cover.
Today was a fine example of my true nerdiness showing itself, in all it's glory. The local Horticultural Society plant fair was the highlight of my day. For years I have seen it advertised, but this year I made it there on time, although apparently, not early enough. My purchases were frugal, but well planned out. I intentionally went with only $20 to my name, and came home with $8 remaining. Had I arrived an hour earlier, I would have been looking for the nearest cash machine, I assure you. So I proudly retunred home forty five minutes later bearing two prized perrenials: a mauve (not to be confused with purple) Pasqueflower and a yellow Globeflower. Both spring blooming.
I have to add that the weather today sucked!!! Damp weather does not bring out my better side and I was suffering from the chills all day (and still am).
On a positive note, I finished sewing curtains for the ground floor. After eight years of no window coverings, I decided it was time. I bought some suspension rods at Designer Fabric Outlet. The cashier's cattiness was in fine form this morning. And instead of working on a client project, I sewed three panels to finally cover up the dining room windows.
