June 25, 2004 | Me.

For those of you who have not quite given up on me, here I am, although as brief as a drive-in intermission, when you are the last in line at the concession stand. I have been in a strange place lately, having made some very major changes to my current lifestyle, and am slowly and mentally adapting to these events. Having been on maternity leave for nine months, I decided to resign from my position as associate creative director at HB. I didn't expect such and overwhelming feeling of empowerment, as an aftertaste of my decision making, yet, I have to say, I have been on cloud nine (or higher) ever since.

So what else is new and exciting, other than my new found freedom, making me a happy happy individual:

Well, I have been inundated with calls from interactive agencies, who heard of my departure from HB. Who would have thought that I would be in demand?

I have taken on some very cool clients, with the exact projects I had my sights on.

My partner and I have registered our new company - Supercapacity.

I have re-discovered some of my favourite domestic goddess pastimes, from cooking to sewing to gardening.

My close friend, and mentor, is co-creating mounds of sawdust down in my basement, and we have already completed two woodworking projects.

Keri Smith's "Living Out Loud" has inspired in ways I never imagined.

Having recently built three pinhole camera's, I am re-learning traditional photography.

I'm fortunate to be surrounded by a wonderful group of supportive, smart and talented mothers, who have been an unbelievable inspirational and social outlet for me and my daughter.

After much hard work in the backyard, and many cuttings from friends and neighbours alike, my back yard has become a perennial jungle, and I can finally relax and enjoy it's fragrance and colour scheme.

I have new ideas for websites, one being a place to house my photos, the other being a 365 day journal of me practising my skills to use up all the wood, yarn, fabric and collected scraps I have accumulated over the past ten years of owning my own home. I'm notorious for starting a project, before completing a current one and/or buying tools or supplied for a new project, but never actually starting it. The new me is on a mission to purge and create. I'm hoping to launch the blog by September, and in the meantime will be documenting all the crap, I mean scrap, within my reach.

I am feeling infinitely creative. I see no boundaries.

And best of all, I am blessed with the most beautiful child, I get to cuddle every morning and night, free of charge. She is a miracle, and I am the luckiest person to have been matched up with her.
