October 10, 2005 | Making Empinados | canon300D

Here is one of L that's special to me. We baked Empinados this morning, from scratch -- dough and filling. I experienced a major deja vu, having given her some dough and some flour to make her very own empinado, and then placed it on it's own little baking tray in the stove. My mother used to do the very same thing with me, as a child, and as a result I grew up to be very passionate about cooking. Not only is it a cheap form of therapy, but cooking for the ones you care about is just a wonderful way to share the wealth.

The Empinados were followed by two salmon and goats cheese quiches, and a chicken/artichoke filo pie. I was in a cooking frenzy.

I'm so excited about my new Canon 50mm lens - it arrives soon and I cannot wait.
