I'm never sure what results I'm going to end up with, with the cross-processed film. But what I like about this one is the darkness of the sky - it feels like a deep pool of water.
There has been much debate lately about digital versus film ... and digital processing. I'm not for or against either, since I shoot with both, although my passion is clearly for film. I don't feel film is superior to digital, but what I like about it are those unexpected results that I get from toy cameras, film and double exposures. I have enough experience in photoshop to manipulate a digital shot, but I would never have had the vision to make the sky deep blue or black on a bright sunny day. The camera did that for me. I spend all day at work having to envision a design, a layout, a logo or an animation ... the last thing I want to do at home is conceptualize the end result of a photograph. I'm too brain dead by then. I just like to scan, clean off the dust, maybe adjust the levels a touch and post. That's my process. It's what works for me. That being said, this work makes me want to shoot more digital.
I've been very burned out lately. You know, those end of winter blues. For the next month I'll be putting more time into reading, going to bed before midight, and of course, chilling with Leah. I doubt I'll take a camera out for the next month, unless it's to take pictures of L. Life has got ahead of me lately, and I'm trying to catch up. This weekend I'm doing nothing but waking the dogs, working out at the Y and sewing L's summer wardrobe while I have the free time.
Five good things:
1. Dell's flat screen monitor sale
2. Thomas the tank engine
3. A hand me down bed for L
4. New Look sewing patterns on sale for $2!!!
5. More sunshine
One very bad thing:
1. My car needs new brakes. Shit.
