December 30, 2008 | Paperchains

It's been more practical for me to shoot digital lately, although I don't enjoy having to process the raw images. I spend so much time using photoshop at work, that I'd rather avoid it in my spare time. But for now, it helps me to continue to document the family during the holidays. Something that it is almost as essential as food, in our household.

Last night, with some encouragement from Bob, we set up the view camera and spent the evening working on a project of mine, that I have been avoiding for some time. Now that Polaroid is discontinued, I'm frightfully uptight about using our reserves (I stock piled 79). But it went so much better than I expected, and I will soon have finished my first official series. I'm eager to post it, but I have about another six images to shoot before I finesse them. It is very different from anything I have done before, which I'm hoping will be a recurring theme in 2009. Let's hope.

Mae is waking up from her nap - my time is up ...
